ANIMATION

                        Animation is one best medium that is used to attract people of all age, communicate ideas, share knowledge and convey information in today’s multi-lingual and multi-cultural world. It plays a major role in most industries, including entertainment, advertisement, education, manufacturing, medical, science and technology, and many more. As the role of 3D animation and graphics becomes inevitable in every important sector or industry, the need for professionally-trained animators increases many folds.

2D

    2D animation is the art of creating movement in a two-dimensional space. This includes characters, creatures, FX, and backgrounds. The illusion of movement is created when individual drawings are sequenced together over time. One second of time is usually divided into 24 frames

            In 2D Animation, we are exploring the roots of traditional animation using modern, digital tools used within the studio environment. we will begin with the principles of animation to ensure students have a solid foundation and then move on to more physical explorations of movement and emotions.

              Although today’s 2D animation borrows many techniques from cel animation, the work is almost exclusively done on computers. Most 2D animations are still drawn by an animator.

                   Cel animation is one of the most traditional forms of animation and involves objects - usually characters - being hand-drawn on clear celluloid sheets and placed over painted backgrounds. These are known as animated cels or animation cels.

                                  The main advantage of traditional animation is the quality it created. With each individual frame hand-drawn by skilled artists, it has brought previously unknown levels of color, depth and realism to animated film. The main downside of cel animation is the time and costs associated with producing it.

Some key examples of traditional animation films include:

·       Snow White and the Seven Dwarves (1937)

·       Sleeping Beauty (1959)

·       The Lion King (1994)

·       The Princess and the Frog (2009)

          Traditional cel animations may have been replaced by CGI and other digital animation techniques, but you can still create a cel animation today and blending it with modern digital techniques.
